How booking works

  1. 1

Ask about a date. Olivia replies and arranges a time to walk the property.

  2. 2

Reserve the date. A signed rental agreement and 20% of the rental fee hold it.

  3. 3

The balance is due 90 days before the wedding.

  4. 4

Plan the details. About 30 days out, we meet with the couple and their coordinator to confirm the final guest count, the layout, and the rehearsal time. The $500 refundable security deposit is due then.

  5. 5

Celebrate. After a walk-through, the security deposit is returned within ten business days.

The day

  • An event runs up to four hours from the moment it begins.
[setup and arrival times]
  • Bar service closes an hour before the event ends.
  • Outdoor music ends at 10:00 PM. All music ends by 10:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and by 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday.
  • The rehearsal is two hours, in the week before the wedding. We arrange the time about 30 days out.
  • Anything brought in by the couple or their vendors leaves the same night.

Food and drink

  • Couples hire their own caterer and vendors. We share a list of vendors who know the property. Each vendor sends proof of insurance 30 days before the wedding.
  • Beer and wine only, poured by a licensed, insured bartender who isn't a friend or relative. Serving alcohol also takes a $1,000,000 host liquor liability policy naming Gilliam Farm, LLC, a Limited Special Occasion Permit, and an off-duty officer for the length of the event. Bar service closes an hour before the event ends. No glass.

Decor

  • Tape is the only way to hang decor, on surfaces we approve. No nails or screws.
  • Inside the Barn, use battery candles only.
  • Bubbles, lavender, and real petals are welcome outdoors. Rice, birdseed, confetti, and party string aren't allowed.
  • Sparklers need our written approval first. We provide the buckets.
  • Balloons are fine in moderation, as long as they leave at the end of the night.
